Product description

Thirty years of pond, from day one

We cut BluGarda EPDM pond liner to your size and deliver it in one piece. Roll it out, unfold it, done: the liner sits watertight in your pond straight away.

The rubber stays supple year after year and has a proven service life of more than 30 years. You lay it once and enjoy it for decades.

What makes EPDM so right for ponds

Professional pond builders have worked with EPDM for years. It combines a long service life with enough stretch to follow any pond shape.

  • Proven service life of more than 30 years
  • Stays supple in frost and in heat, with elongation up to 400 percent
  • Naturally resistant to sun and ozone
  • Settles into rounded corners and free-form shapes
  • Root resistant, so you can plant freely all around

Cut to measure, in whole metres

You choose a fixed width from 4.2 to 14.0 metres and give the length in whole metres, from 4 to 30. We cut the liner to size and deliver it to your door by pallet.

In two minutes you know the size you need

Enter the length, width and depth of your pond in the calculator on this page. You immediately see which size fits and what it costs; we do the maths.

1.00 mm: built for heavier ponds

This thickness is built for swimming ponds, koi ponds and ponds with stones, concrete or steep walls. Anywhere you walk on the liner, 1.00 mm gives you extra reserve. For an ornamental or garden pond, 0.75 mm is the right fit.

Safe water for your fish and plants

This is pond-grade EPDM, made for life in the water. As soon as the pond is full you can plant it up and introduce your fish.

Lay it whenever it suits you

EPDM stays supple in the cold too, so you pick your own moment. Unfold the liner without tension, let it settle for half an hour, then run the water. Once the pond is full and the liner has settled, you finish the edge neatly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much pond liner do I need?

You always need a bit more liner than the size of your pond. The liner has to cover the bottom, run up both walls, and still have some left over around the edge so it can be fastened down.

So start by measuring the length, the width and the depth of your pond. Add twice the depth to the length, then add another metre on top. That extra metre is half a metre of edge on each side, which you bury later or tuck away under paving. Do exactly the same for the width.

An example. Say your pond is going to be 4 metres long, 3 metres wide and 1 metre deep. For the length: 4 + 2 + 1, which is 7 metres. For the width: 3 + 2 + 1, which is 6 metres. So you need a piece of liner 7 by 6 metres. Our widths are fixed, so you choose the 7.0 metre width and order 6 metres of length. That comes to 42 square metres.

Is your pond not rectangular but oval, kidney shaped or free form? Then add 10 to 20 percent. Curves swallow more material than you would expect.

Not sure? Enter your measurements in the calculator on this page. We will work it out for you and you will see the price straight away.

Which thickness should I choose: 0.75 or 1.00 mm?

0.75 mm suits ornamental and garden ponds without heavy load.

Choose 1.00 mm for swimming ponds, koi ponds, ponds with stones or steep walls, and anywhere you walk on the liner. If stones or concrete sit on top of the liner, add a protective fleece above it as well.

Not sure? Go for 1.00 mm.

Does the liner come in one piece?

Yes, every order ships as one piece. You never have to glue or weld anything yourself.

Widths above the roll width are vulcanised at the factory, under time, pressure and temperature. That bond is just as strong and watertight as the liner itself.

Can I return cut-to-measure liner?

Cut-to-measure liner is made specially to your dimensions. That places it outside the statutory right of withdrawal, so we cannot take it back.

Do check your measurements carefully, or give us a call and we will work them out with you. If there is a manufacturing fault, we will of course sort it out.
